Reginald Yaw Ansu-Koranteng is a third-year Renewable Energy Engineering student at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Ghana, and the current President of the Renewable Energy Engineering Students Association (REESA). With a strong commitment to sustainability and inclusive development, Reginald is championing a transformative agenda for the association that centers on capacity building, climate innovation, and entrepreneurship.
His professional interest lies in the Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE) — leveraging clean energy solutions such as solar-powered irrigation, agro-processing, cold storage, and decentralized energy systems to enhance livelihoods and economic productivity, especially in underserved communities. His long-term goal is to become an Energy Access Modeler, using geospatial and systems modeling tools to support data-driven decisions in energy planning, rural electrification, and clean cooking access.
As a Peer Educator under IRENA’s International Apprenticeship Coalition for the Energy Transition (I-ACT), Reginald plays an active role in global youth capacity-building efforts for a just and inclusive energy transition. His cross-border engagement and knowledge-sharing have positioned him as a rising leader in Africa’s energy and climate space.
