Claudia Asare is a final-year Renewable Energy Engineering student at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, Ghana. Widely respected for her academic excellence and transformative leadership, Claudia consistently ranks as the top student in her department and class, currently holding a CWA of 88%, the highest among all female students in the Faculty of Engineering.
Her outstanding academic journey began in high school, where she graduated as valedictorian of Seventh-Day Adventist Senior High School, Bekwai, and was awarded Best Female Mathematician and Best Female Scientist, a testament to her lifelong commitment to excellence.

Claudia is deeply passionate about solar energy, materials science, and data-driven innovation in Africa’s energy systems. Her final-year research project is titled:
“AI and DFT-Driven Material Selection and Optimization of CsPbI₃ Perovskite Solar Cells for Potential Deployment in Ghana’s Tropical Climate.” The project integrates Density Functional Theory (DFT) and machine learning with climate data to optimize high-efficiency solar cells for real-world applications.
She also recently led a practical project on:
Load Forecasting and Optimization of a Solar + Grid Hybrid Energy System for a Mankranso Community, blending energy modeling with social impact.
